Founded in 2022 in Brantford, Ontario, by passionate owners Shannon Pickering and Kevin Szabo, Wordkind was created to support the Kindness Card Project, with a portion of every sale contributing to this inspiring cause.
At Wordkind, we specialize in carefully curated stationery and art supplies hand selected to bring joy and inspiration to our customers. Our award-winning selection includes a variety of unique pens, journals, sketchbooks, and other creative tools, perfect for artists, writers, and stationery enthusiasts alike.
In April 2024, we proudly opened our first location in charming downtown of Paris, Ontario, inside The Gem Marketplace. Whether you're looking for the perfect notebook, a set of watercolour pencils, or simply a place to find inspiration, Wordkind offers a curated shopping experience that celebrates creativity and kindness.

About The Kindness Card Project
The Kindness Card Project began with a $1,000 grant from Laurier Launchpad Community Changemaker program. It was designed to help people combat isolation and loneliness through the simple yet powerful act of sending and receiving handwritten cards. The positive response to our project and events has been overwhelming, with participants expressing joy and fulfillment from both receiving and creating Kindness Cards. Our experience demonstrates our commitment and ability to deliver impactful and inclusive community projects that promote kindness, creativity, and cultural engagement. To date, The Kindness Card Project has distributed over 700 cards and counting.
Events
Card Making and Letter Writing Social with The Kindness Card Project
Join us for the Make, Take, Create Letter Writing Social, part of Ontario's Culture Days celebration. This event invites people of all ages to come together to create beautiful, personalized cards and write meaningful letters to friends, family, and community members. Participants will also have the opportunity to write cards for organizations that support vulnerable community members, such as the elderly or those facing adversity. All materials are provided free of charge, including a variety of card-making supplies, writing tools, and postage stamps. Whether you prefer to make cards, write letters, or both, everyone is welcome to participate in this inclusive and creative event. Join us to explore your creativity, connect with others, and spread kindness throughout the community.
